Supreme goes turbo rodeo on new Clark Wallabees
The Supreme x Clarks Wallabee Spring 2023 collection has officially been revealed. In the past, they’ve dropped pairs covered in both bandana and camo prints, but the New York City streetwear imprint’s latest version has headed West. Wild, Wild West. Will Smith Wild West.
With various outlets speaking of the cowboy boot aesthetic, the Clint Eastwood-ified Wallabees are crafted from a premium suede construction and are decorated with appliqué patterns embroidered onto the uppers. Arriving in black and beige colour schemes, the star of the show is undoubtedly the red/yellow version. A very spicy meatball.
Each pair comes with exclusive co-branded hang tags and a special insole that’s made from tan leather. The Supreme Wallabees also sit on top of crepe rubber soles, and will be accompanied by a range of complementary apparel including hoodies and sweatpants.
In the last 10 years, Clarks has become one of the preeminent footwear brands. Better yet, it speaks to so many different types of guys. Back in March, Ronnie Fieg dropped the Adidas x Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Originals 8th Street Samba, and it quickly became one of the hyped sneakers of 2023. At one point, the resale prices on secondary marketplaces even reached four figures. And way before that, Wallabees have much currency in old school hip-hop culture: Wu-Tang Clan were big fans, and the brand was even name checked by Method Mad in 2000’s ‘Gravel Pit’.
The Supreme x Clarks Wallabee Spring 2023 collection is set to release on May 11 at Supreme and select stockists globally. And don’t get it twisted: Supreme still traffics hard with collectors. Like the most recent Jacob & Co. bracelet collab, it’ll likely catch fire – especially given the fact Clarks are a little more affordable than fine gold jewellery.
